2009 Illinois Law-Related Education Conference


The Constitutional Rights Foundation Chicago gratefully acknowledges the McCormick Freedom Project as the Keynote Address Sponsor for the 2009 Illinois Law-Related Education Conference.

KEYNOTE SPEAKER: George McGovern
George McGovern represented South Dakota in the United States Senate from 1963 to 1981 and was the Democratic nominee for president in 1972. He was a decorated bomber pilot in World War II, after which he earned his PHD in American History and government at Northwestern University. A recipient of the Presidential Medal of Freedom and the World Food Prize, he is the author most recently of Abraham Lincoln (The American Presidents Series: The 16th President, 1861-1865) .

ABOUT THE CONFERENCE
CRFC's annual conference features over 20 teacher workshops on legal and political issues, interactive teaching methods, and innovative materials for the classroom. Participants can attend dynamic workshops featuring nationally recognized presenters, exchange ideas with colleagues from throughout the state, and take back free resource materials. LRE TEACHER OF THE YEAR AWARDS
Each year CRFC recognizes two outstanding law-related education teachers at the conference. The Edward J. Lewis II Award for Illinois Law-Related Education Elementary School Teacher Of The Year commemorates the late Edward J. Lewis II, a partner at the law firm of Jenner & Block who chaired CRFC's Lawyer Advisory Board. The Barbara O'Donnell Award for Illinois Law-Related Education High School Teacher Of The Year commemorates the late Barbara O'Donnell, former coordinator of the Career Development Center for Law and Justice at Lincoln Park High School in Chicago. CONFERENCE SITE
Set on a wooded 80-acre campus, Hamburger University in Oak Brook is a renowned training facility for McDonalds managers and owners worldwide.

To register for the conference, click here for the Registration Form. Early Registration is $75.00 and must be received by August 31. Regular registration is $100.00 and is open until October 2. Registration fee MUST accompany registration form and is non-refundable.
