The teacher's guide provides instructions for structuring lessons and for the effective use of community resource people in the classroom.

More Perfect Union is CRFC's curriculum for 7th/8th grade students studying the Constitution. The six-unit curriculum helps students develop a deeper understanding of content related to the founding documents of our country, and how constitutional principles are represented in our government. The curriculum includes interactive teaching methodologies such as civil conversations, simulations, case studies, human continuum, and use of outside resource persons, particularly attorneys. Teachers in Chicago Public Schools and Illinois School District U-46 are implementing the curriculum and providing feedback to CRFC and each other via CRFC's blog.

Primary VOICE is an innovative primary grades social studies curriculum that incorporates conflict resolution, law-related education, and service learning while promoting critical readings skills. Using children's literature, the twelve lesson curriculum introduces students to the concept of governance, develops their understanding of responsibility, focuses them on conflict resolution, and engages them in a service learning project.

Based on the children's story of Jack and the Beanstock, this multimedia mock trial program allows students to participate in a vital process of democratic government -- the jury system. A thirty minute DVD presents the trial of State v Bean to students and asks them to serve a jurors, weighing all the evidence they've seen and rendering a verdict.

The State v Roberts Multimedia Jury Experience and Mock Trial Program is a unique and flexible resource for teaching about the judicial branch of our government. State v Roberts features a defendent who has been charged with possession and the intent to distribute an illegal drug containing anabolic steroids. Using the facts from this single case, students have two opportunities to learn about our legal system: either as jurors or as participants in a mock trial.

Based on the children's story of The Three Little Pigs, this multimedia mock trial program allows students to participate in a vital process of democratic government -- the jury system. VOICE combines law education, peer mediation and service learning to educate 4th grade through middle school students about our democratic government and offers ways to resolve conflicts peacefully. The curriculum features over 50 lessons designed to increase academic achievement, foster peaceful resolution of conflict, and spark community service.

Organized to fit into a U.S. history curriculum, lessons focus on subjects such as the American Revolution, the Old West, civil rights, and the three branches of government. Lessons stress cooperative learning and critical thinking, and are strengthened when used with a resource person. Each include suggestions on resource persons.

Fifteen simple lessons to bring the U.S. Constitution and Bill of Rights to life. Designed to introduce law and citizenship into U.S. history and government courses, the text helps students understand democratic principles and how these principles related to their daily lives. Students explore issues such as handgun control, civil law, police-community relations, and juvenile justice. Each lesson includes discussion questions, motivational strategies, and interactive role-plays. The use of outside resource persons is encouraged to provide realism and positive role models.
