Teaching American History Initiatives

Since its inception, CRFC has created classroom materials and conducted professional development activities for the infusion of law into the study of U.S. History at the elementary, middle school, and secondary levels. CRFC participated in eleven Teaching American History (TAH) grant programs between 2003 and 2012, including four with the Chicago Public Schools and two with District U-46 (Elgin). CRFC also participated in TAH projects led by Evanston Township High School, Maine Township High School District 207, Bloom Township High School District 206, and Woodstock USD 200. CRFC also designed and conducted a seminar series on constitutional issues in history for the West Shore Consortium for Dynamic History Instruction with the Muskegon (Michigan) Area Intermediate School District. Lessons and materials from some of these projects are available on CRFC's Teaching Materials page.
